Jacksonville Public Safety Complex
Jacksonville, TX
The Police Chief for the City of Jacksonville, an East Texas community of about 14,000, called the new Public Safety Complex a “game changer.” The 28,000 square foot complex houses the fire and police departments plus administration areas for each department, an emergency operations center (EOC), a dispatch department and 9-1-1 call center.
The City of Jacksonville requested that the building have the red and blue coloration to distinguish the two public safety departments contained within while reflecting the City’s logo colors. The color scheme is carried into the lobby space located between the fire and police department. The central area also includes a large multi-purpose room where all departments can conduct educational programs.
The fire station accommodates three shifts of ten with individual sleeping quarters, locker rooms, dayroom, dining area and commercial kitchen. It includes four, drive-through apparatus bays with areas for equipment storage, decontamination and laundry. The site includes a workout building for personnel and a vehicle search building for the Police Department.
