Rockett Special Utility District Complex
Waxahachie, TX
For the design of this new public works complex, Quorum Architects worked closely with the Rockett Special Utility District (SUD) in Waxahachie, Texas. Because the district is in the business of selling water, Quorum incorporated a water feature along the approach to the front entrance that is also visible from the board room. The district wanted to showcase their water conservation efforts, so Quorum incorporated a visible rainwater collection system to be used for irrigation.
This project consists of a 10,000 square foot administration building, a 10,000 square foot shop facility and covered storage along with associated site work. The design included a 1,600 square foot board room for public meetings, transaction counters and drive-thru transaction windows along with six offices, a map room, work areas, file storage and a break room.
