Kaufman County teamed up with the North Texas Humane Society to manage and operate the new 12,560 square foot Pet Adoption Center, allowing both agencies to better serve their community. Our team worked closely with the owner to develop an eye-catching design to increase walk-ins and encourage adoptions. As with all our shelters, creating a place where animals can be comfortable and thrive is the team’s primary goal.

The custom-designed HVAC system promotes the health and wellbeing of animals and employees. Ample natural daylighting maintains animal circadian rhythms, decreasing stress-related illness. The indoor/outdoor kennels encourage healthy activity. The get-to-know rooms and courtyards allow social interaction and compatibility for new owners and their pets.
